Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and Meditation
Qi Gong simply translates to energy work, and has been developed over thousands of years by dedicated masters as a way of cultivating energy from the universe, and becoming a conductor of health and well being. There are several forms and can be practiced by anyone no matter what state of health you are in, if you can breath you can practice Qi Gong. Here at Sitting Swan we teach 1000 hands Buddha Qi Gong, Earth Peace Meditation, and The Eight Essential Movements of Tai Qi.
1000 hands Buddha
1000 hands Buddha is a sitting form of Qi Gong with gentle hand ‘mudras’ which can help you
- Reduce muscle tension, physical pain & discomfort.
- Develop a healthy sleep cycle
- Sit comfortably & breath deeply
- Feel calm amidst emotional struggle
- Cultivate mental clarity & quiet the monkey mind
- Develop a healthy mind body relationship
When practicing the full form it takes thirty to forty five minutes to complete the fourteen mudras. By patiently observing and practicing the mudras your own style will develop, each session ends with 15-20 minutes for discussion and questions. With practice and patience Qi Gong will teach you how to manage your pain and help you develop a healthy sleep cycle.
The Eight Essential Movements of Tai Chi was taught to me by my friend Mike Mailman who learned from John Kotsias, who learned from master Huo Chi Kwan. This form teaches the balance and basic preparations needed to practice Tai Chi Ch’uan. It is the perfect place to start if you are interested in learning Tai Chi.
Earth Peace Meditation was developed and taught to us by the Sat Guru Yogi Raj Gurunath Siddhanath to bring about earth peace through self peace. In Earth Peace Meditation we send love and healing energy to every being on the planet
